Gritstone Edge - Summer Morning

One of four or five paintings on the subject of light filtering over a rocky edge onto the foliage of trees and rocks below.  The image is split into irregular segments to dissolve the scene and focus the attention on light and feeling rather than being an accurate description of the topography.  The actual location is Burbage Edge.  Sweeping diagonals are counterbalanced by verticals and horizontals which echo the shape of the frame.
