Sunset Over Ridge #2

One of a series of semi-abstract paintings, called ‘doubles’, where one image is set within another. The border adds another dimension to the illusion of depth and space.  Colours and tones contrast dramatically.  Light shifts and refracts.  The combined effect is similar to the principle of harmony and discord in music lending added meaning to the event of a sunset.
